There is much dispute over his real name apparently, but the kanji for “masa” and “miyabi” are the same. So, it’s quite plausible that the above name is proper. Plus, it’s everywhere haha. No matter – he is known as Miyavi to all and that is a badass name.

He is an amazing guitarist and vocalist who became famous by the young age of 17. He started off in the Japanese visual kei band Dué le Quartz. Despite being their youngest member, he composed, wrote the lyrics, and arranged their songs. He started a solo career in 2002 with his album Galyuu after the they disbanded.

I love every song he has ever put out. His style is boss and he loooves his fans. In 2008 he had his first world tour with The Kavki Boy; 36 successive shows in 14 countries. He finally came to Canada recently, after being held up by the fact that he is now a father to a beautiful baby girl and is now married. His show was absolutely amazing and I loved every second of it. The way he plays is freakin’ awesome. Watching him is just as great as hearing him.

He is so unique! The North American tour became a  two man show after he was introduced to Bobo the drummer in 2010 and worked on the recording of Survive. His style has changed quite drastically from when he first started out, but he has never stopped being a baller.
